About us

Our aim is to provide the best education in equine nursing, through tuition delivered by teachers with decades of clinical experience and expertise.

We can do this because of our origins, as a joint collaboration between Liphook Equine Hospital – one of the most extensive and well-equipped equine hospitals in the country – and VetPartners, a veterinary group focused on supporting the profession.

We offer the opportunity for trainee nurses to study for a Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Equine), a two-year course that will prepare you for a career in specialist equine nursing, regulated by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. We ask that candidates only apply if they are currently working in a practice that either is an approved equine Training Practice, or is aiming to become one. You will also need to hold five GCSEs, C/4 or above, including maths, science and English.

With the facilities and expertise of Liphook Equine Hospital and the support of the VetPartners structure, we believe VetPartners Nursing School is in a perfect position to deliver that.

With the support of VetPartners, Caroline Hallam has achieved her dream of becoming a qualified equine veterinary nurse.

The VetPartners Nursing School has equipped her with all the skills and knowledge to help her deliver the highest level of care to sick and injured horses.

"In 2019, I was given an incredible opportunity by my employers and VetPartners. I was enrolled into the new VetPartners Nursing School based at Liphook Equine Hospital and began a two-year course in equine veterinary nursing, with funding provided by Fellowes Farm. I enjoyed spending time with my fellow students, and we became just like a little family.  The quality of tuition at VetPartners Nursing School is excellent. Rosina Lillywhite, who runs the school is clinic nursing manager at Liphook, and I was impressed that we had someone teaching

us who not only understands the job inside out, but is still carrying out a veterinary nursing role".

Sophie Wrench, an internal medicine nurse at Rainbow Equine Hospital, finds success through our equine nursing school.

Since graduating from VetPartners Nursing School, where Sophie was part of the first cohort of nurses studying for a Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Equine), her skills and knowledge mean she has become a much valued and trusted member of the Rainbow Equine Hospital team.

Her qualification, from the VetPartners Nursing School, means she can take on more responsibility, including procedures she was previously not qualified to do.

“I feel completing the Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Equine) has really set me up for a rewarding and fulfilling career. It enabled me to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse at the end of it and I could start doing more procedures on patients, including schedule 3 surgical procedures such as stitching wounds. It means I can work more independently and take on more responsibilities, while still working closely with a great team".
